I've no doubt that Catherine captured all of the intrigue and excitement in a way that kept your flipping page far into the night. Look forward to getting a copy of this.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5368929094660877771.post-66252129686810230592010-06-28T19:44:12.871-07:002010-06-28T19:44:12.871-07:00Thanks for the review, Susie:) I too was thrilled...Thanks for the review, Susie:) I too was thrilled to find. out more- I almost felt privy to the plotting as though I were there. I personally loved the book, but I knew many of the names mentioned and the situation, so it wasn't entirely new to me. Roch was an excellent character, wasn't he? :)Arleighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16283692274748044642noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5368929094660877771.post-8997561709230519802010-06-27T13:54:29.894-07:002010-06-27T13:54:29.894-07:00Many thanks for this review! I have to say though, that I've always thought of Napoleon as the "usurper", not the Bourbons.

Do you know about Elena Maria Vidal's novels of royal France, TRIANON and MADAME ROYALE? They are excellent. The first one deals with the revolution, and the second one deals with the post-revolution and the royal restorations. I did a review of both novels, here:

http://crossoflaeken.blogspot.com/2009/11/tragedy-of-royal-france.htmlMayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18230268418171628594noreply@blogger.com
