Return of the Native...

I'm back from our trip to England. It was a long trip back and I'm trying to adjust again to my time zone. Having some major jet lag!

We had a great time. It was just not stop. There was so much to see and we still didn't see everything we wanted to, but the highlights were the Tower of London, Kennsignton Palace, Hampton Court, Windsor Castle, Stafford upon Avon, Oxford University, The Cotswold's, Bath, South Wales, Cornwall, Jane Austen's home, Hever Castle, Winchester, Canterbury and the White Cliffs of Dover.

Henry VIII 500 Jubilee was in full swing. Everything was Henry VIII all over London and South England.

I have so many pictures and trivia to share, I just have to collect everything from both of our cameras.

Picture for today is of Anne Hathaway's Cottage~the wife of William Shakespeare. What a beautiful cottage dating back to 17th century. The cottage and grounds were just fabulous. The National Trust does a wonderful job of restoring and maintaining the historical buildings of the England.

  1. I think I could easily spend a couple of months there! Glad to hear you had a good time.

  2. Welcome back Susie! I missed you. I can't wait to see pictures and hear more about the trip. The cottage is beautiful.

    How's baby?

  3. I've been anxiously awaiting your return so I can hear all about your experiences!! I want to know EVERYTHING so don't hold back! I hope you had a diary or notebook so you could write down all you saw!! On my Sunday Salon post there is a pic of my Tudor Bracelet.. mostly Anne Boleyn, but you gotta take a look. There's Hever Castle on it too!

  4. You Lucky, Lucky Lady!!!! Welcome back:)

  5. Welcome back! Sounds like you had an amazing trip! I can't wait to see your pictures.

My husband and I are going to England, Ireland & Scotland this Fall and I'm counting the days. We'll be gone for 13 days but I can't imagine that being nearly enough time for me to see everything that I want to see!

  6. Welcome back. I know there are so many places to choose from but I think you did a marvelous job on selection by the looks of your list. Austen's home makes me jealous...actually the whole trip does :)
Glad you had a fabulous time and are home safely.

  7. What a DREAMY vacation =) Lucky duck! That is a fantastic photo.

So glad you had a nice time!
