Climbing out of the rut...

Have you ever been here where you pick up book after book and nothing talks to you. Ever since I finished Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnely I have been in a rut. I can't seem to finish a book. They start out pretty good and then become so boring to me. These are all books that I have had on my TBR list and I am so disappointed that I can't get into them :-( .

After going through 4 books like this during September I think I've found a book that will do it for me. It's an Oldie but Goodie to be sure. Moonstone by Wilkie Collins. I loved Wilkie's Lady in White. I have a TBR pile that is at least 4' tall but for some reason I just need a diversion, something to climb in bed with that won't put me to sleep. So far so good with this little gem. Wish me luck that I can stay interested, I have to get out of this rut!!!!!
Would love to hear your reading rut stories!!

  1. Yes I have been stuck in a rut also. Never read any Collins, but just heard about this book last week. I'll be looking for your review.
Love the Halloween theme too :)
    Trick or treat!

  2. I am always in a reading rut, that is why I have so many books started and not finished. I do finish them eventually, some quicker than others. I just have to sometimes get away from the 'historical' book and read a totally different genre, usually a thriller or horror book....like the theme too, witch is cute!!

  3. I agree CelticLady you have to change it up sometimes. I always feel guilty when I don't finish a book, but honestly some of them I just can't suffer through.

  5. I hate when I get that way. I am in a slowing down phase right now. I really want to read and I keep buying but I have to push myself to read right now. And it's not that the books are boring - I really enjoy them, I just don't want to read, lol. I gotta get through this!
